January 31 was a much-anticipated day in Nevada as Willie Nelson’s marijuana brand was debuted. An event was held at Exile Boutique to welcome the long-time marijuana advocate. The event also featured Willie Nelson-themed tattoos for a recommended donation of $40.
No interviews were given by Nelson though, according to the Las Vegas Sun. Willie’s Reserve made no comments either. Before Nelson left the venue he lit a joint, inhaled, and passed it onto a member of the crowd.
Redwood Marijuana CEO Paul Schloss said, “We’ve been working on this over a year because they wanted a place where recreational marijuana was legal. This isn’t just a pot smoker here – this is a rockstar.”
As for the fan in the crowd that was handed the lit joint by Nelson, she simply said, “You’re awesome.”
