The Nevada Department of Taxation will begin issuing recreational marijuana licenses this week. Sales will begin, with limitations, on Saturday, July 1. Approved recreational retailers include a few of the state’s existing medical marijuana dispensaries.

Sahara Wellness in Las Vegas is a medical marijuana dispensary planning to begin recreational sales on Saturday, according to KTNV 13 News. Brenda Gansallus of Sahara Wellness says that the majority of their patient have serious health conditions like cancer and PTSD, or are elderly. The dispensary is busy stocking up to ensure an ample supply for patients and recreational customers.

Gansallus said, “We’re coming up with a plan to make sure that those patients are taken care of whether they come in faster, or they know what they want, they can come in and get it, but we want to make sure the patients aren’t forgotten in the whole process.”

Four Reno and up to 25 Las Vegas medical marijuana dispensaries could be offering recreational marijuana as early as Saturday.
