Nevada’s Marijuana Lounge Bill Is Gaining Traction with Lawmakers

Las Vegas Cannabis Lounge

Nevada’s Senate Committee approved a bill keeping the thought of marijuana lounges alive. In total, Nevada lawmakers have 23 marijuana-related bills for the new industry. Recreational sales will begin this summer.

Marijuana lounges would benefit tourists as the only legal place, at least for now, to use it is in your own home, according to KSNV News3LV. Local law enforcement isn’t thrilled about the lounges. Some believe that it will become a public safety issue.

Brannon Zimbelman of The Travel Joint said, “It has to happen, there’s no way around it.”

Senate Bill 236 heads off to the full Senate for a vote. If passed, regulations for marijuana lounges will be determined. The bill includes language that would prohibit the lounges from being by schools, in gambling establishments of all kinds and in casinos.
