Nevada’s Marijuana Sales Soar Higher and Higher

The first six months of recreational marijuana sales in Nevada generated over $30 million in tax revenue. The Department of Taxation released new data indicating that $19.5 million of the collected tax revenue came from the 10-percent special sales tax. Sales slowed slightly in November but picked right back up in December.

December sales totaled $35.8 million, according to Las Vegas Review-Journal. That generated $5.8 million in tax revenues for December alone. The special recreational sales tax accounts for $3.6-million of the revenue. The balance of that tax revenue ($2.2 million) came from cultivator wholesale taxes.

Sales in November totaled $33.4 million.
