Nevada Marijuana Sales Approach $150 Million in First Quarter

The Nevada Department of Taxation just released its 1^st quarter of fiscal year 2019 marijuana sales numbers. The sales totaled $146.7 million. July and August 2018 sales were reportedly just above $48 million.

In September, sales totaled $49.4 million, according to News 4. The total of taxes collected on these sales was $23.48 million. Of that, $12.5 million goes into the state’s “Rainy Day Fund.”

Nevada schools will receive $11 million in funding from the tax revenue.

In the 2018 fiscal year, sales totaled $529 million with $70 million in total tax revenue.
